The June 9th, 2015 edition of Los Angeles Angels news including Angels draft Angels criticized for first round pick, Angels facing costly and uncertain future and much more…

The Story: The Angels’ first round pick of Taylor Ward is being heavily criticized.
The Monkey Says: The team made what appears to be a huge reach to select Ward, presumably to save money for later in the draft, but many felt it was simply too big of a reach to justify the savings. Selecting Ward will help with signing the much more well-received selection of Jahmai Jones in the second round, but this selection is one that the organization is going to take a lot of heat for.

The Story: The Angels face a costly and uncertain future.
The Monkey Says: Thanks, we weren’t aware. It isn’t like I cry myself to sleep every night thinking about this or anything.

The Story: Mike Trout and his lookalike nephew appeared in a video segment before the MLB Draft.
The Monkey Says: The Yankees tried to draft his nephew based on the video footage. Fool me once!

The Story: There is no real change for any Angels in the All-Star voting.
The Monkey Says: Pujols is still fifth in first base voting and Trout still trails Lorenzo Cain in the outfield and is in danger of being passed by Alex Gordon. No other Angels appear in the results, nor should they.

The Story: Erick Aybar is feeling more comfortable in the leadoff spot.
The Monkey Says: Good for him. It still isn’t a good idea, but good for him.

The Story: A look at the cost of being an excessive groundball puller.
The Monkey Says: Maybe try pulling the ball less, Albert? Just a thought.
