The August 11th, 2015 edition of Los Angeles Angels news including Dombrowski might be a poor fit for Anaheim, Cowgill nearing rehab assignment and much more…
The Story: There is doubt Dave Dombrowski would be interested in working with Moreno and Scioscia.
The Monkey Says: This is a bit of a rehash, but I’ll say it again. Dombrowski worked under Mike Ilitch for years, so Moreno shouldn’t be a big change. Scioscia might actually be more willing to collaborate with Dombrowski since they are more aligned philosophically. Also, money. Money is going to play a big role as might the opportunity to build a team around Mike Trout.
The Story: Collin Cowgill is going to start a rehab assignment in the next few days.
The Monkey Says: It will be a long one as the Angels won’t have roster space for him until rosters expand in September.
The Story: The Angels are weighing options with Conor Gillaspie once David Freese returns.
The Monkey Says: Gillaspie hasn’t exactly been playing like a guy the Halos desperately need to keep, so this isn’t a big deal. Having depth at third is nice, but the Halos have Kyle Kubitza at Triple-A and he’s probably better than Gillaspie anyway.
The Story: Mike Trout and Bryce Harper headline a youth movement in MLB.
The Monkey Says: Why is everyone acting like this is a new thing? These guys have been in the league for years. Out of all the people on that roster they put together, Correa is the only rookie. Also, WTF is with Cron being on that list? One of these things is not like the other ones.
The Story: The comedic stylings of Huston Street.
The Monkey Says: Yeah, hilarious. Let’s hope nobody ever asks him to pitch in the seventh inning because if he makes good on his promise to quit baseball, I think a second career in comedy might not quite be in the cards.
