The March 25, 2016 edition of Los Angeles Angels news includes the team possibly breaking camp with only four starters, Tyler Skaggs putting together a strong first outing after meeting his sports hero, and more…

The Story: Angels rotation plans still in flux

MWAH Says: An off-day on April 6, after the two-game opening series vs the Cubs, means the Angels could break camp with a four-man rotation and not have to worry about guys pitching on short rest until April 11. That’d mean Shoemaker and Tropeano both start in Triple-A, and allows the team to keep Deolis or Javy Guerra around for an extra week as bullpen depth. Sounds like a solid plan to me.

The Story: Skaggs got inspiration from Kobe Bryant before Thursday outing

MWAH Says: I really hope this means Skaggs whispered “Kobe!” to himself before throwing each pitch yesterday. Best part of this article: Skaggs texted former D’Backs teammate Matt Davidson before the game saying he felt really good about his curveball. He then faced Davidson in the game and struck him out with three straight fastballs. Savage.

The Story: Garrett Richards gets more comfortable with change-up

MWAH Says: Sorry, not sorry, hitters. Richards now has a fifth pitch you have to watch out for. This isn’t the first story this winter about his new change-up, but it is the first time Richards has mentioned feeling good enough about it to use it in-season, “all year.”

The Story: Special-assistant scout Tim Schmidt was fired this month

MWAH Says: No specific reason has been reported, only that he was a Dipoto hire.

The Story: The best outfield in baseball

MWAH Says: It’s the Angels! Mostly thanks to Mike Trout, of course, but don’t sleep on Calhoun and Nava/Gentry. Naturally, Trout also leads FanGraphs’ positional power rankings for center field. Calhoun is 11th in right, Nava Gentry rank 26th in left.

The Story: Hector Santiago is an AL pitcher with a secret: He loves to hit

MWAH Says: Santiago’s made hitting a key part of his offseason workout regimen. For his career, he is 2-for-13 with two singles and no walks. His line is .154/.154/.154.

The Story: GIF: Cespedes tries to pretend live ball is stuck under fence, ump disagrees

MWAH Says: I love everything about this GIF. My favorite part though is when the ump signals that the ball is live then immediately bends down to touch it.
