Penn State’s 2012 class may still have about 10 spots left, but with the recent commitment from Nyeem Wartman, in addition to Camren Williams, none of the final spots will be reserved for linebackers. Still, this is Linebacker U, and if our 2012 LB class is locked up, the next best thing to do is look forward to 2013. The Penn State staff has already begun to do just that, and Williamstown (NJ) LB Buddy Brown has noticed.
“The schools that have been showing me the most interest are Rutgers, PSU, Boston College, Wisconsin, South Carolina, Florida, Oregon, Texas A&M, Virgina and WVU,” said Brown in a recent on-line interview with Nittany Lions Den, adding that West Virginia and Rutgers have already offered. “I can’t lie. There are some schools like Florida, Oregon, PSU and Wisconsin that just stand out because of their name[s]. Also Miami, they’re showing interest too. They stand out also.”
Brown also added that he will be visiting and camping at a few other schools before the summer is over. “I’m going to South Carolina on the 22nd for their showcase and to visit. Then after that I’m flying out to Oklahoma for the NUC Ultimate 100 Top prospect camp, and while I’m out there I plan on visiting Oklahoma University.”
Brown is 6’2″ and 205 lbs. He benches 305 and his most recent 40 was 4.61. He projects at the OLB spot at the next level.
