Via email exchange, Jeff Nelson (Penn State Football Sports Information Director) has confirmed that Penn State will play Buffalo on September 12, 2015. The Nittany Lions will play Rutgers on September 19, 2015. Previous reports had Penn State playing at Temple on September 19, 2015 in Lincoln Financial Field. Stay tuned as we try to confirm what is going on with the schedule.
UPDATE
A source within Temple’s football offices confirmed with me that the game originally scheduled for September 19, 2015 was moved to September 5, 2015. The game will still be played in Philadelphia and that would line up Penn State’s 2015 season to start in Philadelphia. After that they will host Buffalo and Rutgers before the next opening in the schedule.
