Penn State may have yet to complete their 2012 defensive line class, but they are very aware of a few DLs for next year’s as well. One such prospect is Bear (DE) Red Lion Christian Academy Kenny Bigelow.
“The off-season has been great. I accomplished a lot more than I thought I would,” Bigelow recently told NittanyLionsDen.com. “I racked up a couple offers and a lot of press. I feel as though my true showing was at the Badgersport Big Man Challenge,” he said, adding that he also attended a camp and unofficial at Rutgers, and took an unofficial to Auburn.
Where are his offers coming from? “I have offers from UConn, Rutgers, Auburn, Temple, Illinois, Maryland, Penn State, Virginia and Clemson,” he said, adding that he’s not quite sure where the most interest has been coming from.
With so many offers, it might be hard to make a decision for Bigelow, but he’s taking it one day at a time. “I’m interested in whoever is interested in me. I have no favorites. If I had to pick right now it would be Auburn, the national championship is big to me.”
So where does Penn State stand with the talented defensive end? “I have never been there, but I do know very much [about] them. I saw a couple games on TV, like when they played Bama. They looked good and I think they will strive and do well in the Big Ten.”
With nine offers already, it’s obvious that Bigelow is doing something right. We asked him what he thought coaches liked most about his game. “My size and explosion; my agression and intensity. I do whatever it takes to get to the quarterback, [and I] play as hard as I can, whistle to whistle. My passion to win is unmatched.”
He added that he would like to “give all the honor and glory to God,” as well as his team and strength training “for pushing me to be the best.”
Kenny self reports himself at 6’3″ and 280 lbs, with a bench press of 380. He is also the team-mate of Khaliel Rodgers.
