We’ll Be Offline Tomorrow to Pay Our Respects

StadiumOn Thursday the Penn State, and college football community will have a chance to gather and honor the life of former Penn State head coach Joe Paterno. The memorial service in Paterno’s honor will certainly be of interest to many in State College, Pennsylvania and beyond and we at Nittany Lion’s Den encourage you to find some way to tune in and watch it as former players, friends and family speak about a man who left this world with a storied, yet blemished, legacy.

While everybody has their own ways of paying tribute to the man we all lovingly refer to as Joe Pa, Nittany Lion’s Den will pay our collective respects by essentially going off-line for the day. This will be the final post until Friday morning. The decision will hopefully show the blogosphere and beyond that we are observing a day of reflection and virtual silence on the Internet. We will not provide any new content on the website, nor will we post anything on Facebook, Twitter or Google+.

We encourage others to consider doing the same, although in this world of social media and the constant need to provide content, especially at at time of high interest like this we certainly understand and respect our fellow Penn State blogs’ decisions to remain online. Nittany Lion’s Den will return to the Internet with fresh content on Friday morning.

We appreciate your understanding.
