But it’s not quite the announcement you were thinking. Still, there is reason for Penn State fans to be optimistic.
Adam Breneman, the top high school prospect in the state and the top tight end in the nation according to multiple recruiting outlets and analysts, will announce his decision Friday, March 9, about 11 months before he needs to make it official. Breneman recently visited Ohio State and had some positive thing to say about his stay in Columbus, but Penn State has long been considered a favorite for the Harrisburg area product.
Breneman’s announcement via Twitter, in reverse order…
Other than Penn State and Ohio State, the other two schools many consider to be in contention for Breneman are Notre Dame and Maryland. If Penn State can get the verbal commitment, and more importantly keep it until next February’s National Signing Day, it would be a fantastic win for Penn State’s coaching staff.
Our very own Ryan Hogan happens to be a pal of Breneman and has been invited to the press conference, even though it will be open to the public. Follow Ryan on Twitter @ryanhogan7 for live updates form the announcement next Friday night. We will also aim to have video and photos available, if possible.
