The official depth chart was released by Penn State’s football program on Tuesday. Of note, Adrian Amos has moved back from safety to corner back. The loss of Curtis Drake probably had something to do with that, as Drake’s removal from the roster led to some depth concerns at defensive back. Also, last year’s starter at middle linebacker, Glenn Carson, appears to be in a heated contest with rising star Khairi Fortt. Carson’s name appears first but has “OR” listed after it, followed by Fortt.
Also of note, Pete Massaro is listed first at right defensive end. If he stays healthy, that could be a solid position for Penn State this season. Michael Mauti is also listed as a starter at outside linebacker, as expected.
Penn State picked up the commitment of Philadelphia area wide receiver Will Fuller. This gives Penn State ten players to look forward to in the Class of 2013. Penn State is also in the mix for another player from the state of Florida, linebacker Freddie Stevenson.
The Jerry Sandusky trial is officially underway in Centre County, with juror selection netting nine members on Tuesday. Selection continues today as the court looks for three more jurors and four alternates. Black Shoe Diaries has a good rundown of the jury selection today.

ESPN Big Ten blogger Adam Rittenberg is running down some of the top individual Big Ten seasons from the past 50 years. Receiving an honorable mention of sorts today were Kerry Collins (1994) and Larry Johnson (2002). It must have been difficult to leave out a 2,000-yard rushing performance, but the top five is pretty solid. I would have thought Ki-Jana Carter would get an honorable mention for his 1994 season. If you remember, Carter did not play much in the fourth quarters of most games that season, perhaps making his rushing totals a little more impressive.
We knew the Big Ten had a record $284 million to split between its members, and with Nebraska not receiving a full share we could only estimate how much each Big Ten member will actually receive (a totally even share would net $23.66 million per school). The Minnesota Daily (referencing St. Louis Dispatch) is reporting that each share will equal $24.6 million, which leaves $13.6 million for Nebraska this year.
Michigan State quarterback Andrew Maxwell suffered a knee injury in the spring but he is back now,healthy and ready to go with the Spartans. Maxwell is slated to succeed Kirk Cousins in East Lansing this fall. (From the Crystal Ball Run Morning Playbook)
UConn will not budge from moving home against Michigan to a larger stadium, such as Giants Stadium or Gillette Stadium. Good for the Huskies.
