NLD Football Podcast – The Nittanyville and Joe Paterno Statue Episode

This is what we will call the season premier of the Nittany Lions Den Football Podcast. After a couple of previous episodes to experiment and test some things out, the football podcast is back in full gear and ready to get started. And what a show we have to get thigns kick started.

As news comes down that the Joe Paterno statue could be removed from its place outside Beaver Stadium this weekend, Aaron Torres from Crystal Ball Run checks in to share his thoughts on why he felt the statue should stay where it is. He has since stepped slightly back from his viewpoint, but it is a good conversation with someone from outside the Penn State community and fanbase that hopefully will not cause you to slam your head against a door the way some others from outside of State College and the community have.

The other somewhat significant news this week was the name change of Paternoville, to Nittanyville. One of our own contributors, and student president of the organization, Troy Weller chatted about the decision to change the organization’s name and the response it has received as well as what he hopes happens once football season starts back up.
