For the second straight week, Penn State’s opponent will wear a specially designed, one-time use uniform against the Nittany Lions. Last week it was Ohio State’s all-black uniform. This week Maryland will be turning back the clock to 1961 with these retro-inspired uniforms from Under Armour.

Why 1961? Well, for starters, Maryland defeated Penn State by a score of 21-17 in that season, when the Terps went 7-3. That is also the last time Maryland defeated Penn State south of the Mason-Dixon Line. Of course, Maryland topped Penn State last season in Beaver Stadium. Those are the only two wins Maryland has in 38 games against the Nittany Lions.
