Florida State remained second in both polls on Sunday, behind only Mississippi State. The Seminoles were idle on Saturday while the Bulldogs survived their first-ever contest as the nation’s top-ranked team, winning 45-31 against Kentucky.
Third-ranked Ole Miss was the highest ranked team to lose on Saturday as the Rebels fell to LSU in Baton Rouge 10-7. Ole Miss fell to seventh in the AP Poll and ninth in the coaches.
Florida State was followed by Alabama and Auburn in each poll. Oregon was ranked fifth in the AP Poll, but sixth in the Coaches Poll – one spot below Michigan State, who the Ducks defeated 46-27 earlier in the season.
In the ACC, Florida State was joined by Clemson, who ranks 21st in both polls and Duke, who ranks 24th in each poll.
Florida State will face Louisville on Thursday night. The Cardinals at 6-2, received votes in each poll.
