For a second week in a row, the top Professio”Nole” athlete comes on the NFL gridiron. After rookie linebacker Telvin Smith earned the honor last week, the Professio”Nole” Athlete of the Week for the week of October 20th through the 26th goes to one of the more veteran Seminoles playing in the NFL.
After not recording an interception in the first six weeks of the 2014 season, Arizona Cardinals’ cornerback Antonio Cromartie nabbed a pair of picks on Sunday and finished the day with five tackles and three passes defended in a 24-20 victory over the Philadelphia Eagles.
Cromartie’s fourth quarter interception of Nick Foles was returned into Philadelphia territory which led to the game-tying field goal. He returned his first interception of the day 40 yards.
While Cromartie has been quiet throughout the early parts of the season, his performance on Sunday was critical to Arizona winning the highly-anticipated match-up of first place teams. At 6-1, the Cardinals lead the NFC West and are tied for the best record in the NFL.
