After a brief stint with the Indiana Pacers this season and not appearing in a game, former Florida State standout Chris Singleton is playing basketball in the United States again. Singleton signed a deal to play with the Oklahoma City Blue of the National Basketball Developmental League.
Singleton is the Professio”Nole” Athlete of the Week for the week of February 16th through the 22nd for his performances for the Blue against the Texas Legends.
In two games in the NBDL, Singleton has filled up the box score, averaging 9.5 points, 7.5 rebounds and 3.5 blocks.
In a 102-94 road victory over the Legends on Thursday, Singleton finished with 7 points, 7 rebounds and a 5 blocks. He followed that up with a 12-point, 8-rebound, 2-block outing in a 95-82 home victory over the Legends on Saturday.
A former 18th overall pick in the NBA Draft, Singleton never had the sort of NBA career he and draft experts had hoped for. Whether Singleton ever returns to the NBA remains to be seen, but in two NBDL games, Singleton has demonstrated his ability to do a number of things which made him so fun to watch in his three years at Florida State.
