Florida State ran its winning streak to six games and improved to 10-3 on the season after taking both games of a brief 2-game stint against South Florida in Tallahassee. After winning its previous four games by a combined seven runs, the Seminoles swept the Bulls in dominating fashion, outscoring USF 31-4 over the two games. Florida State will have just one day off before the ‘Noles open ACC play against Boston College on Friday.

Tuesday, March 3rd
Florida State played 23 players in Tuesday’s dominating 23-run victory over its opponents to the south. D.J. Stewart homered in his only two official at-bats while infielders John Sansone and Dylan Busby also left the yard. Sansone and Hank Truluck each plated four runs for FSU while on the mound, freshman Drew Carlton allowed five hits and no walks in five shutout innings to collect his first career victory. Buddy Putnam scored the only run of the game for the Bulls.

Wednesday, March 4th
Alec Byrd was once again outstanding in relief, allowing just three hits while fanning six in 5 2/3 innings to pick up his second win of the season for the Seminoles. Danny De La Calle homered and scored three runs for Florida State and Darren Miller plated a pair as the ‘Noles overcame an early 3-0 deficit. Luke Borders drove in two of the three South Florida runs while shortstop Kyle Teaf went 2-for-4 with a RBI.
