At the big league level, Devon Travis may cooled down, but on the minor league level, a former Florida State catcher had an outstanding week.
Stephen McGee is the Professio”Nole” Athlete of the Week for the week of May 4th through the 10th after going 7-for-13 with the Inland Empire 66ers of the Class-A Advanced California League.
In addition to hitting .538 in four games this past week, McGee drove in six runs and scored two more. For the season, the former FSU catcher is hitting .385 in nine games. McGee had multiple hits in three of the four games he played this week.
McGee hit just .217 last season and is making dramatic improvements for the Los Angeles Angels’ organization. He also has a home run, 7 RBIs and an on-base percentage of .500 for the year.
