It was a great overall week for fans of Florida State baseball as the Seminoles went a perfect 4-0 in Durham to win their sixth ACC championship. While FSU made its push for a national seed at the ACC Tournament, a former Seminole had yet another strong showing at the minor league level.
Catcher Stephen McGee is the Professio”Nole” Athlete of the Week for the week of May 18th through the 24th after hitting .600 for the Inland Empire 66ers of the Class-A Advanced California League.
In five games for the Los Angeles Angels’ affiliate, McGee went 9-for-15 with two runs scored and six RBIs. McGee is hitting .452 over his last 10 games and .404 for the year in 17 total games.

Brandon Leibrandt won both of his starts this week for the Clearwater Threshers of the Florida State League, allowing just two runs in 15 innings without surrendering a walk.
George McNeill (PGA)
George McNeill finished tied for fifth at -10 for the tournament at the Crowne Plaza Invitational. He was two strokes back of winner Chris Kirk.
Buster Posey, C San Francisco Giants (MLB)
In six games this week, Buster Posey hit .409, going 9-for-22 with a home run, four runs scored and five RBIs. His .310 batting average leads National League catchers.
