In a week in which he was named the starting catcher for the National League in the Major League Baseball All-Star Game, former Florida State All-American Buster Posey responded by hitting nearly .500 at the plate.

Posey is the Professio”Nole” Athlete of the Week for the week of July 6th through the 12th after going 8-for-17 this week for the San Francisco Giants.

In addition to hitting .471, Posey also scored a pair of runs and drove in another. Posey will be participating in his third All-Star game. Posey ranks sixth in the National League in hitting, fifth in RBIs and is a big reason why the Giants are just 4.5 games back of the Los Angeles Dodgers in the N.L. West.
