With the Major League Baseball season nearing its end, the NFL season is starting to get interesting. On Sunday, two former Florida State running backs had the best games of their young careers.
The Professio”Nole” Athlete of the Week for the week of September 21st through the 27th is Atlanta Falcons’ running back Devonta Freeman, who had a career-day against the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday.
In a 39-28 Atlanta victory, Freeman accounted for nearly 200 yards of offense and scored three touchdowns. Freeman rushed for 141 yards and three scores on 30 carries, but added 52 yards receiving on five catches.
Freeman’s 7-yard touchdown run with 11:25 to play put the Falcons ahead for good. Entering Sunday, Freeman had just two total touchdowns for his career.

Buffalo Bills’ rookie cornerback Ronald Darby had five tackles, four passes defended and an interception he returned 21 yards in a 41-14 victory over the Miami Dolphins on Sunday.
Chris Thompson, RB Washington Redskins (NFL)
Washington Redskins’ running back Chris Thompson accounted for 86 yards of offense and a receiving touchdown in Thursday’s 32-21 loss to the New York Giants. Thompson had two carries for 29 yards and eight catches for 57 yards including a 4-yard touchdown reception in the fourth quarter.
Karlos Williams, RB Buffalo Bills (NFL)
Buffalo Bills’ rookie running back Karlos Williams rushed for a career-high 110 yards on 12 carries in Sunday’s 41-14 win over the Miami Dolphins. Williams capped the scoring with a 41-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter.
