This week: Bellator 19 and Shark Fights 11

Bellator 19

Arguably the most exciting promotion not called the UFC takes over Dallas this Thursday. Bellator 19 will feature plenty of homegrown fighters (though, ironically, none on the main, televised card) and broadcast live on Fox Sports Net from the Verizon Theatre in Grand Prarie.

Headlined by a red-hot matchup between Sengoku star Dan Hornbuckle (20-2) and Steve Carl (13-1), the card also features former SWC featherweight champ Johnny Bedford (15-8-1) of Fightness Fight Factory taking on Jared Lopez (8-8). Katana featherweight champ, Houston’s Daniel Pineda (10-6) and undefeated Chas Skelly of Fitness Fight Factory(6-0) engage in a grudge rematch that has been boiling over even before Skelly defeated Pineda last year.

Shark Fights 11

Amarillo-based promotion Shark Fights heads out west to Odessa to host the return of Amarillo-native Paul Buentello (27-12) to Texas as he takes on the 265 lb. undefeated Bryan Humes (6-0). Co-headliner: Derek Campos and Luis Luna, Jr. put their identical 3-1 records on the line.
