An endearing trait of humankind is our innate ability to come together in support of one another in the face of unexpected tragedy. Tonight, North Texans get the opportunity to come together for a selfless cause as the House of Blues will play host to a benefit concert for Brandi Todd, the Stephenville mother of two who was left paralyzed from the waist down following a senseless attack at a Stephenville park this past March.
Todd, 28, was blissfully watching her children play when Michael Allen Howard, a man with a history of mental illness, stabbed her in the back unprovoked. The stabbing severed Todd’s spinal cord and left her paralyzed from the waist down.
Tonight, a benefit will be held at the Dallas House of Blues to raise money for Todd’s mounting medical bills. Dallas-based rock, R&B group Scott McCurry & the Mercenaries will headline a concert and auction with all proceeds helping the Todd family. For the boxing fan, the WBA #12 ranked heavyweight David “Nino” Rodriguez will be on hand to lend support. Shelley Lane and Parachue Addams will also perform.
The event kicks off at 8:00 PM with tickets priced from $9-14 dollars. Visit www.livenation.com for more information.
