In a little over a year’s time, Steele Cage MMA has made an undeniable impact on the professional MMA scene here in North Texas. With two critically acclaimed promotions already under their belt here in the DFW, fight fans are beginning to come around to the idea of a local promotion providing a quality night of fights and presentation value that rivals some of the big dogs on the national stage.  Tonight, Steele Cage MMA will host their third promotion here in North Texas, at their designated home, the Dr Pepper Arena in Frisco.  Headlining the card will be the highly anticipated rematch between Joe “Jitsu” Christopher, and Joey Gorczynski.  While this matchup is intriguing in its own right, the real buzz for this show revolves around special guest and UFC legend Chuck “The Iceman” Liddell who will be cage side prior to the fights to sign autographs and pose for pictures.

What:  Steele Cage 3

Where: The Dr Pepper Arena, Frisco, TX

When: Friday, August 06, 2010.  Doors open at 6:00 and fans are encouraged to get their early to meet Liddell.

Why You Should Care:  Because without a doubt, Steele Cage MMA packs the most bang for your buck in terms of fights and event atmosphere.  Because when can you honestly say that you had a chance to rub elbows with the great Liddell?  Besides, Liddell’s last visit to Dallas ended in him passing out during a local news interview.  Tonight promises a much more coherent Liddell, well at least until the after party.

Fight of the Night:  Can’t lie, I’m disappointed that the Ryan Benoit – Randy Villarreal fight fell through when Villarreal pulled out of the fight as that one had fireworks written all over it.  But fear not, there are tons of potential FOTN bouts on this card, but don’t sleep on the Ira Boyd – Shawn Smith fight.  Also, Doug Frey vs. Joseph Sandoval has the potential to be hella exciting.
