Eleven days. It’s hard to believe that the biggest boxing card to ever hit North Texas is a mere eleven days away. On November 13, Cowboys Stadium will play host to the mega-fight between Manny Pacquiao and Antonio Margarito. Last year, Pacquiao packed over 50,000 people into Cowboys Stadium when he beat up the relatively unknown Josh Clottey. Given the popularity of Margarito with the Latino fan base here in North Texas one can expect that this month’s fight will shatter attendance and PPV records.
Such is the anticipation of this fight that HBO has been airing their four-part ‘24/7’ series that gives people a behind-the-scenes look at the two fighter’s camps leading up to November 13. Sure, the series is a bit contrived and serves as little more than a 30 minute infomercial, but let’s not overlook the fact that this series does draw up interest in the fights and in all fairness, it’s a pretty enjoyable watch.
