One of the beautiful things about our local fight community is the shared kinship exhibited between fighters, handlers, family members, etc.. When tragedy befalls one of your brothers and sisters in arms one can count on the support and compassion of all individuals who operate within our unique circle.
All of which is why I am sad to announce that burgeoning Fort Worth boxing prospect Victor Flores was taken from our beloved fight community Sunday night.
The Fort Worth Star-Telegram is reporting that Flores was involved in a dispute with two other men outside his apartment complex. Things escalated for the worse and Flores was shot multiple times by these cowards. It is with a heavy heart that I have to inform you that Flores was pronounced dead at 10:14 PM at the Texas Health Fort Worth Hospital.
Such a tragedy is made all the more heinous when it is committed during this time of peace and goodwill. North Texas Fisticuffs would like to send our condolences out to the family of Victor Flores.
