Former World Champion Paulie Ayala and his Paulie Ayala Productions will host the 12th Annual Boxing at the Ballroom benefiting Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Fort Worth with live and exciting professional boxing with some of Dallas Fort Worth’s finest young talent on Friday, August 19th at the Renaissance Worthington Hotel in Forth Worth, Texas.

Ayala, a product of Fort Worth, takes great pride in giving back to the community especially the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Fort Worth.

“I am proud to have an opportunity to give back to a great organization that provided a place for me to go when I was a kid. The Boys and Girls Club continues to do great things to help kids from the community that I grew up in,” stated Ayala.

The fight card will highlight some of the area’s brightest up and coming fighters including Ayala’s own, former amateur sensation lightweight Manuel Rojas (2-0), plus a special female attraction which is an ongoing tradition of the Boxing at the Ballroom.

Rojas compiled an exceptional amateur record of 86-17 that included the 2008 Junior Olympic State Championship, 2008 National Junior Olympic Finals, 2008 World Ringside Finals and 2009 National Silver Gloves Championship.  Rojas will take on Roy Garcia (0-1) of San Antonio.

The female super featherweight affair features Jennifer Han (2-1-1) of El Paso, Texas fighting hometown favorite Lisa Lamb (6-5, 2KO) out of Fort Worth.

Another former Dallas amateur sensation, Ray Ximenez (3-0), will showcase his immense talent against Robert Ledesma out of San Antonio.  Ximenez has dominated his first three opponents since turning pro in 2010.

Miguel Buendia (5-1, 2KO) has quickly become a fan favorite in DFW due to his non-stop aggressive style.  Buendia fought on Ayala’s last card, Battle of DFW, and won an entertaining six round battle against Fernando Rodriguez.  Buendia is a former 2-time Fort Worth Golden Gloves Champion that will face Raul Carrillo (1-1) out of El Paso, Texas.

Ayala will also showcase a couple of other former amateur stars that will make their pro debut albeit under much different circumstances.
Dallas native Samuel Alex Clarkson won the 2009 PAL, Silver Medalist Ringside Nationals and was the 2011 Golden Glove State Champion. Clarkson will take on cross-town rival Cody Perez of Fort Worth.

Angel Solorzano will make his long awaited pro debut after winning the 2003 National PAL Championship and was the Golden Gloves Champion from 1997-2003.  Solórzano traded in his boxing gloves for a baseball glove while playing baseball at the University of Iowa.  He will test his potential ring rust against Obaldo Torres out of El Paso, Texas.

Also making his way back into the ring is welterweight Jose Orozco (3-0, 2KO), who last saw action in May, 2009.  He had over 200 amateur fights compiling an approximate record of 178-32.  His opponent will be Jaime Lara of El Paso, Texas.

The Boxing at the Ballroom includes a lavish steak dinner, fine wine and spirits in addition to 7 exciting professional fights.  There will be a raffle and both live and silent auctions all benefiting the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Fort Worth.
