Due to an unfortunate illness that has beset me, I don’t have the hour plus that it takes to write up a Big East preview. Howeva, I did have time to record the Panthers v. Ravens game that was on ESPN last night. That took 4 seconds. I watched it in about 10 minutes. Why? Because I know you are curious about the pro debut of Tony Pike, and I bit the preseason game bullet. Here is the most awesome recap of all the times.
Tony Pike played in 1 series. Carolina had the ball at around the Ravens 25-30. On his first play, Pike play action passed, but his open receiver, tight end Ineeda Newjob, dropped the pass. On second and ten, Carolina ran the ball. The third down play saw Tony get sacked by former Bearcat stud, Haruki Nakamura. Nakamura had 5 tackles by the way.
How did this take 10 minutes for me to watch? It didn’t, but I was interested in seeing how Jimmy Claussen looked. He looked pretty good. His numbers kinda blow, but the Panther line was awful. They couldn’t stop your mom from rushing. The interception came when a receiver fell down. I might do this for the next Panther game, and I might do this for the next Rams game, just to see how Mardy Gilyard looks. As for Pike, him getting a token series doesn’t do much to quell the rumors he’s going to get cut. I would imagine he’s going to be a on a practice squad this season.
Well, that’s it. That’s how Tony Pike’s NFL career started. Have a nice weekend everyone. Oh, if I do a thing for the Rams, it will go up whatever day they play. Next week will have 3 Big East previews. I promise.
