Bellator 62 had the distinction of featuring some of North Texas’ finest MMA fighters.  A convoy of North Texas based fight fans traveled the seven hours south on I-35 to Laredo in order to witness some of the area’s brightest stars mixing it up in the cage.  While the Texas fighters were relegated to the unaired undercard they did not disappoint when it came to bringing the action.

Chris Jones of Dallas moves to 7-1 with a closely contested split decision in a battle with Steven “Ocho” Peterson of McKinney.  Scores were 29-28 (Jones), 30-27 (Peterson) 29-28 (Jones)

Arlington’s Douglas Frey drops to 10-8 with a first round TKO (strikes) loss to Rad Martinez (12-2).  The official time of the stoppage was 4:08 in the opening round.

Dallas’ Sean Spencer moves to 8-1 with a second round rear naked choke over Joseph Daley.  The official time of the submission was 1:24 in round two.
