Three DFW fighters traveled down to The Valley this past weekend to bring victories back the North Texas.
Phalanx/Genesis fighter Randy Villarreal may have been the victim of some hometown shenanigans as he dropped a disputed split decision to local fighter Saul Elizondo. Villarreal’s camp was lived following the loss citing Randy’s control of the action and the fact that he seemed to have Elizondo on the ropes in the fight.
Villarreal’s training mate Tony Tipton fared far better winning a split decision victory over Faian Saldivar. Tipton, co-owner of Genesis Jiu-Jitsu, was making his professional MMA debut.
Last but not least, Octagon MMA’s Eli Tamez scored a unanimous decision over Tomas Covarrubias.
