Rangers Talk Loss to Habs (1/11/11) – Updated

Update, 11:05 a.m.:
Jesse Spector at the Blueshirts Blog has more post game reaction…

Brandon Dubinski on Habs pest P.K. Subban…

“I don’t really want to talk about that guy,” Dubinsky said. “I thought it was a slew-foot. He got called for the first one. Should’ve gotten called for the second one. That’s all I want to talk about with that.”

Wojtek Wolski on the game…

“I think we did a good job of getting their D to back off,” Wolski said. “There is so much speed from Gabby. A lot of times their D was afraid. I think the biggest thing was that we created a lot of offense. We took it to the net and had a lot of opportunities. Their goalie played well and they won, but we had a lot of opportunities.”

Chris Drury on playing in tight games…

“Down the second half and stretch, there’s going to be a ton of tight games,” Chris Drury said. “You might get the odd explosion game where there’s a lot of goals, but it’s just going to get stingier and stingier. Teams are going to be tight all around the ice.”

The below quotes were released by the Rangers after the game…

John Tortorella on Wojtek Wolski…

“He certainly was around the puck and had a number of opportunities to score. I thought he played hard. You can see his talent level. I thought he played a good game.”

Henrik Lundqvist on tonight’s game…

“I thought we played a pretty good game. It could have gone either way. We definitely had our chances at the end to tie it up. They are a good team, they are a fast team. It was a fun game to play but unfortunately we came up short tonight.”

Brandon Dubinsky on tonight’s game…

“We had our chances. The momentum went back and forth. We were right there. We had our chances. We had an opportunity to get two points on home ice. We have to make sure we don’t let these ones slip away and find a way to score when we have opportunities.”
