Off charges of burglary, running back Akise Teague has been suspended indefinitely and dismissed from the team. From Koch comes this statement from Butch Jones:
“Akise Teague has been suspended indefinitely and dismissed from the University of Cincinnati football team. Student-athletes in the program are held to a higher standard of conduct on and off the field as representatives of the University. This incident in no way reflects the values, principles and ideals of our football program.”
This is disappointing. Teague was Mr Footall in 2010 for Ohio. He had a huge game the Big 33 Classic. I was looking forward to seeing him in action. Last season, he scored a TD in the opener and got a couple carries in the second game of the season. Then he got hurt and didn’t play the rest of the way. Who knows if he’ll get reinstated one day or if he’ll go to a division 2 school to continue his career. This is why you have to be smart about the decisions you make. If something seems like a bad idea, it is a horrible idea and you shouldn’t do it. Also, lock your dorm room doors.
If you like mug shots, here is Teague’s.
