Here’s video of Flames Director of scouting at this year’s World Junior Championships stating that Tim Erixon may not be ready for the NHL yet and needs to work on his strength…

…sorry to throw a little cold water on Erixon but we have to realize that he is just 20 years old and to think he can run the Rangers power play this year (as I’ve seen numerous Rangers fans state) is a bit premature. Let’s get the kid in camp first and see what he’s got.

Meanwhile over at Blueshirts United, Gordie Clark, Rangers Director, Player Personnel, says that the Blueshirts had a lot of interest in defenseman Erixon at the 2009 NHL Draft before Calgary eventually selected him late in the first round and gave this scouting report…

“He’s actually got a lot of the same qualities that his dad had when he played. There’s nothing really flashy about him, but he makes the right decisions just about all the time. Defensively and offensively, he can go through games error-free.”

The Rangers also received a fifth round pick from Calgary in the deal.
