My Boy Wolski Back on Ice (Updated – Sauer Not Skating)

Update, 1:21 p.m.:
Wolski talks groin injury…

“It’s very frustrating. I worked very hard this summer, had a great training camp, and felt very strong and positive about the year, but this is a hiccup. It’s the beginning of the season and I want to get this to 100% and take care of it now so that I can have a good season. It just wouldn’t be smart to push it too hard now and have to take more games off later.”

…tough break for Wolski but he’ll be back on the top line soon.

Update, 1:02 p.m.:
Torts says Sauer shoulder injury is not a long term issue and will be on the Western Canadian trip.

Update, 12:58 p.m.:
Woywitka says he’ll be comfortable paired with Eminger, as the two played together as pair in World Junior Championships.

Update, 12:54 p.m.:
Torts confirms that Sauer is out tomorrow and Woywitka, who will be wearing #6, is in.

Torts also adds that he’s not sure if Wolski will play tomorrow. Wolski says he’s not 100%.

Update, 11:30 a.m.:
Update on defensive pairings per Steve Zipay

McDonagh-Girardi
Del Zotto-Erixon
Eminger-Woywitka

…that MDZ-Erixon pairing may be scary (not in a good way) defensively.

Update, 11:26 a.m.:
Forward lines:

Stepan-Richards-Gaborik
Dubinsky-Anisimov-Callahan
Fedotenko-Boyle-Prust
Rupp-Christensen-Zuccarello

Wolski is extra skater.

…looks like Wolski is out tomorrow.

Update, 11:17 a.m.:
Andrew Gross reports that Michael Sauer (shoulder) is not on the ice today and will likely be replaced in the line-up tomorrow by newest Rangers Jeff Woywitka.

Possible defensive pairings tomorrow…

McDonagh-Girardi
Del Zotto-Eminger
Woywitka-Erixon

…really didn’t expect Sauer to be out for tomorrow’s game. Do we have to start worrying that this a long term injury as well?

Original Post:
Katie Strang at ESPN NY reports that Wojtek Wolski (groin) is on the ice for practice this morning.

Ryan Callahan, who had maintenance day on Wednesday, is also on ice as expected.

…should be interesting to see how this effects the lines if Wolski is good enough to go tomorrow.
