Update, 5:10 p.m.:
Torts on why Wolski is a healthy scratch tonight (via Blueshirts United)…
“We know (Wojtek Wolski) is a guy that has scored 60 points in this league and eventually we have to try and get that out of him. But right as we win a couple of games, that situation with the fourth line I am going to keep the same tonight.”
Torts added this about the fourth line…
“They (the fourth line) has been doing a lot of the things we have asked them to do. They haven’t received a lot of ice time, but Erik (Christensen) has shown effort and improvement in certain areas, (Kris Newbury) has come in and finished his checks, fights for his teammates, and could help us in faceoffs, and (Mike Rupp) scores a goal, fights a guy. So I don’t think I need to change (the fourth line).”
…that has to be the first time Christensen has been praised for his effort. And is Torts kidding me saying Christensen has shown improvement. He had zero goals, assists, shots and hits the last game. The only way he would have improved on anything was if he would have had a negative in any of those categories.
Original Post:
Steve Zipay at Blue Notes reports that Henrik Lundqvist gets the start again tonight while Brendan Bell is in for Jeff Woywitka, because as John Tortorella says the Oilers are a fast team and Bell is quicker.
Torts added that Wojtek Wolski is a “healthy scratches” and Michael Sauer is still day-to-day.
…couple of surprises here for me as I thought for sure Biron was getting the start (expect him in Winnipeg) and didn’t think Torts would tinker with line-up after two straight wins. I should have known better, it’s Torts he just cant resist.
…interesting to hear that my boy Wolski is a “healthy scratch.” That doesn’t bode too well for my plans to have him on the top line.
