Before last night’s game Zenon Konopka, or whatever his name is, was running his mouth about the Wojtek Wolski hit on Daniel Alfredsson and how there was going to be bad blood on the ice.
Well, on his first shift of the game Sean Avery went right over to Konopka and let him know what he thought about those comments. Konopka was not heard from the rest of the game. Minus when he ran into Hank but that was only because he was pushed from behind by Marian Gaborik.
No Avery did not win the fight, but the message was sent and obviously received. Not sure if Avery isn’t on the team that anyone does that and Konopka is allowed to run around the ice hitting everything that moves.
There won’t be much praise coming Avery’s way for his action, but I think he proved his worth with that fight. Here’s video of the bout…
