Panthers 2, Rangers 1

The New York Rangers (10-5-3) lost to the Florida Panthers (12-6-3) by the score of 2-1, tonight. For a boxscore and recap go to Yahoo! Sports.

…last two games proving that the seven game win streak might have been more a product of an inferior schedule than the Rangers being a good team.

…so much for emphasizing more shots all week. Just 20 tonight.

…guess Stralman wasn’t the answer on the power play.

…lifeless performance by the Rangers and Torts gives the team’s only sparkplug Avery just seven minutes of ice time.

…the only good thing about the Deveaux elbow is that he’s going to get suspended and the Rangers can call up Hagelin.

…that game is 10-1 without Lundqvist.

…did Richards get lost in the bowels of the Nassau Coliseum? Because he has been MIA since scoring the game winner against the Islanders last week.

…how about instead of sticking EC on the far post during the power play you stick Boyle’s big body in front of the net.

…10 hits from Dubinsky tonight. Only thing he’s doing out there right now.

…six minor penalties for Callahan in the last four games. Not a good example Mr. Captain.

…it must be the number, because Fedotenko has been useless this year. Add Boyle and Prust to that list. The useless list, not the new number one.

…Gaborik continues to play well (sweet pass on Stepan goal) but he needs to start scoring again for this team to be successful.

…AA just a passenger on G.A.S line as he is pointless with a -2 in the last four games.

…off tomorrow for some turkey then back at it Friday early evening in the nation’s capital.

QUOTES (via Blueshirts United):
Henrik Lundqvist…

“(The Panthers) are a good team. They skate fast and have a lot of skill at forward. We knew special teams would play a big part in this game, and unfortunately they won that match and that was the difference tonight.

“We know we have to play better. It’s going to be another couple of tough games here the rest of the week, so we have to improve and be better in all areas. Special teams are so important, so we have to be better there, for sure.”

Andres Deveaux on his major elbow…

“(Fleischmann) was cutting in and I went to finish my check, and he kind of switched angles a little bit, and I just reacted and he went down. I haven’t seen it yet, so I don’t know how bad it is, but I know I did elbow him. The guy did come back so that’s good.”
