Rangers Get an A at the Quarter Point of the Season

Scott Burnside and Pierre LeBrun at ESPN.com hand out their quarter point grades for the season and give the Rangers an A…

New York Rangers
Grade: A
Summary: Even without Marc Staal, the Rangers have been arguably the best team in the conference over the past three weeks or so. Dan Girardi has emerged as a terrific all-around defenseman and leader in Staal’s absence as the Rangers are among the league’s stingiest teams.
Trending: Up. With Staal looking like he will return in the near future, the Rangers are trending up in a big way.

…got to love ESPN. They give the Rangers an A and then proceed to mention a player who hasn’t stepped foot on the ice all season three times, while not a peep about anyone else but Girardi. ESPN knows players such as Lundqvist, Richards, Gaborik and Callahan are on the team, right? Actually they probably don’t.

For ESPN’s quarter point individual awards, Henrik Lundqvist is given an honorable mention for the Vezina, while John Tortorella also gets an honorable mention for the Adams.

…i’m sorry it’s an absolute joke that goaltenders such as Nikolai Khabibulin, Jimmy Howard, Marc-Andre Fleury and Kari Lehtonen are ahead of Hank. Seriously who would you ratherhave in net? Exactly.
