Andrew Gross at Rangers Rants reports that despite his shoulder being sore and tight after taking a shot to the collarbone from Sheldon Souray last night, Henrik Lundqvist said he will be ready to play tomorrow night in St. Louis…
“It’s fine,” Lundqvist said. “It’s pretty stiff. I’m sure it’s going to be stiff for a few days. I’m lucky, I thought it was the collarbone. I thought my shoulder was a few feet behind me. I knew it was going to be a hard one. He’s up there with (Zdeno) Chara and (Shea) Weber. I’m glad it didn’t hit me in the head.
“It won’t be that bad,” Lundqvist added. “The way it feels now, I know it will be tight tomorrow but it’s not a spot where I can’t play.”
…actually thought the shot got him in the shoulder so I wasn’t concerned that he might have broken something when it happened, but after hearing he took the shot off the collarbone the Rangers and Lundqvist dodged a major bullet last night.
…Rangers have been able to overcome the loss of Staal this year, not sure they could do the same if Hank went down.
