Dan Martin at the New York Post has these quotes from Sean Avery responding to his two straight healthy scratches…
“It’s definitely more frustrating,” Avery told the Post. “I know I can help.
“It’s not easy, but it’s part of the job have (sic) and you have to deal with it. I want the guys to play well regardless of who is in the lineup, but it’s tough.”
Avery adds that he has not tried to influence John Tortorella to put him back in and doesn’t feel there’s anything he can do in practice to change the situation.
…i give Avery all the credit in the word. He has every right to bitch and complain, but he keeps his mouth shut and goes about his business. Shows his respect for the Rangers organization.

Here’s Torts on Avery being a healthy scratch…
“I’ve got a lot of players out that I have to consider, not just Sean,” said Tortorella, refusing to single out Avery. “I’m pleased with how all the guys are working.”
…more like “I consider a lot of players, but not Sean.” With two straight passionless games from the Rangers it seems only logical that Avery be re-inserted. But when you’re dealing with a coach that holds grudges, you can throw logic out the window.
…and please Torts don’t give me you’re pleased with how all the guys are working. Especially after last night.
