Rangers 4, Islanders 2

-8

The New York Rangers (20-8-4) defeated the New York Islanders (11-15-6) by the score of 4-2, tonight. For a boxscore and recap go to Yahoo! Sports.

…was concerned that the Rangers might be looking ahead to the Flyers, but this team, as has been the case all year, stayed focus on the opponent in front of them and got the job done.

…i’d love to say that Dubinsky’s goal will jump start his season, but I said the same thing a month ago and we all know what happened.

…is it too early to start talking Hart Trophy for Gaborik?

…the Rangers officially have two starting goaltenders.

…make that a +20 for Del Zotto on the season. Maybe every Rangers player should eat dinner with Richards the night before a game.

…loved the “who the hell are these two fight?” between Bickel and Martin.

…empty net goal from Mitchell means at least another week in the press box for Avery.

…might be time to put AA at center on the GAS line if he’s going to continue to make plays like that off the faceoff.

…Fedotenko gets Avery’d tonight with just five minutes of ice time.

…22 minutes of ice time and a +3 from Stralman. Who saw that coming when the Rangers signed him?

…right back at it tomorrow night in a Winter Classic preview vs. the Flyers.
