Chris Peters at the United States of Hockey lists his 2011-12 Mid-Season All-America Team with Brandon Dubinsky (C), Derek Stepan (C), Ryan Callahn (RW) and Ryan McDonagh (D) all receiving Honorable Mentions at their respective positions.
…while I’d like to argue that Callahan should have gotten First or Second Team right wing consideration it’s hard to argue that he should be ahead of guys like Kessel, Pominville and Kane.
…btw, how does Dubinsky get an Honorable Mention?
Meanwhile, Greg Wyshynski at Puck Daddy takes a gander at what a 2012 Defensive All Star roster would look like and it includes Callahan, Brian Boyle, Dan Girardi and Ryan McDonagh.
Wyshynski adds that McDonagh has become one the league’ best defenders in just his sophomore year.
…i think Torts would be thrilled to see four of his players selected to this team. Also awesome to see McDonagh getting recognized for his stellar first half of the season.
Finally, John Buccigross at ESPN.com ranks Dan Girardi #91 and Ryan Callahan #61 in his Top 100 NHL players #s 50-100.
He will release the rest of his list shortly.
