Larry Brooks at the New York Post reports that the Rangers have had preliminary discussions with the Blue Jackets regarding the availability of Rick Nash. however, Brooks is being told it is a longshot.
Brooks adds that the opening asking price for Nash, who has a no trade clause, is in excess of the package speculated to be Brandon Dubinsky, Chris Kreider and a first-round pick.
Brooks thinks Columbus GM Scott Howson is asking for either Derek Stepan or Ryan McDonagh in a package for Columbus’ franchise player.
…hahahahahahahaha. Is Howson kidding me thinking Dubi, Kreider and a #1 isn’t enough?!?!?! Move along Sather, there’s nothing to see here.
…i know that’s just an opening bid and I’m confident Sather has the ability to get Howson down to a manageable level, but the more I’ve looked at this potential trade the more I don’t like it. Stay the course Glen, stay the course.
