Rangers Concerned About Price for Nash (Updated: Rangers on Nash’s Short List)

Update, 1:34 p.m.:
Aaron Potzline at the Columbus Dispatch reports that the Rangers are one of five teams on Nash’s approved list. Nash has a no trade clause.

Boston, Los Angeles, San Jose and Toronto are the other teams.

…wow, this is getting real close to happening Rangers fans.

Original Post:
Pierre LeBrun at ESPN.com reports that while the Rangers covet Rick Nash, team brass is concerned about giving up too much and wrecking the good chemistry they have.

Reports have the Blue Jackets asking the Rangers for Brandon Dubinsky, Chris Kreider and a first round pick for Nash.

Meanwhile Ryan Kennedy at The Hockey News says Nash could cost more including Dubinsky, Kreider, Carl Hagelin and possibly Wojtek Wolski.

…only a week and a half left of Nash to the Rangers rumors.

I know many Rangers fans, including myself, are against trading for Nash, but man he’d be fun to watch in a Blueshirt. Check out this highlight video to see why…

Finally, Greg Wyshynski at Puck Daddy says Ryan Smyth to the Rangers is a deadline dream scenario.

…multiple reports have Smyth working on an extension with the Oilers. He’s not coming to the Rangers.
