Andrew Gross at the Bergen Record reports that both Ruslan Fedotenko and Wojtek Wolski were wearing yellow jerseys and practiced on the fourth line with John Mitchell and Mike Rupp.
Which meant Stu Bickel went back to wearing the red defense practice jersey.
…you would assume either Feds or Wolski get back in the line-up tomorrow in Pittsburgh but this is what happened during Saturday’s practice and Bickel was back on the wing last night.
Meanwhile, Pat Leonard at the Daily News says Steve Eminger and Carl Hagelin practiced despite being nicked up in the third period last night.
Finally, after practice John Tortorella says he pleased with Marc Staal’s progress, but added that it’s been “frustrating” for Staal to play a lesser role than in past.
…it’s got to be killing Staal to only get third line minutes and not be paired against the top players in the league. But this is a process for him and I think he’s handled it very well.
…i’m sure it’s very difficult for Torts as well. Girardi & McD are playing too well together to split them up, but I’m sure he’d like to get Staal back on the top pair.
…to be honest with the chemistry Girardi & McD have, I really would like them to stay together next year even if Staal is back to 100%.
