Pierre LeBrun at ESPN.com says with the Rangers opening up an eight point lead in the Eastern Conference to expect Henrik Lundqvist to get his fair share of rest down the stretch.
LeBrun predicts Lundqvist will play just 11 or 12 of the Rangers final 19 games.
…this couldn’t be working out any better for the Rangers.
…because the Blueshirts have had to ride Lundqvist down the stretch just to qualify for the playoffs recently, the All Star netminder was usually spent once the second season began. And we all know how those playoff appearances ended.
…a rested and healthy Lundqvist will go a long way towards Rangers playoff success this year.
John Buccigross at ESPN says Henrik Lundqvist is one of just four goaltenders in NHL history to have at least 35 wins in four or more straight season.
