Andrew Gross at the Bergen Record reports that Ryan Callahan (foot) and Michael Del Zotto (hip) are out of tonight’s game against the Islanders, but Brandon Dubinsky (sinus) will be back in.
…not good. Got to assume Callahan’s had a setback with his foot injury. I’ve said that bone bruises can sometimes be just as bad as a broken bone (ask Carlos Beltran). Still should be plenty of time to heal before playoffs. Right?
Meanwhile, in an obvious attempt to infuse some offense into the line-up the Rangers have recalled Mats Zuccarello from the Whale and he will join the team for tonight’s game. No word if he’ll be in the line-up.
…guess Sather reads the New York Post.
…not sure if this is to jump start the offense or a sign that Callahan’s injury is serious. Let’s hope it’s the former.
Gross at the Record also gives us these lines from the morning session…
Dubinsky-Richards-Hagelin
Anisimov-Stepan-Gaborik
Fedotenko-Boyle-Prust
Rupp-Mitchell-Scott
…not sure if these will change with Zuccarello recall.
With Del Zotto not skating, the defensive pairings looked like this…
McDonagh-Girardi
Staal-Bickel
Eminger-Stralman
