Jess Rubenstein at The Prospect Park reports that Chris Kreider (2009 – 1st) had an assist to help lead Boston College to their third straight Hockey East Championship as they defeated Maine 4-1 Saturday night.
Rubenstein adds that Kreider showcased his defensive prowess in the championship game…
“With his speed and quickness he can get back on defense faster than most people can turn themselves around. How many times did Kreider disrupt Maine’s offense just by his back checking? It just seemed that every time Maine thought they had something going Kreider was breaking it up.”
Kreider also manned the right point on Boston College’s power play. BC received a #1 seed in the NCAA tournament and will play Air Force on Saturday, March 24th.
…nah, the Rangers couldn’t use someone to man the point on the power play right now. Just send him to the Whale, because the Blueshirts offense is obviously clicking on all cylinders.
In other prospect news, Rubenstein notes that Michael St. Croix (2011 – 4th) finished his regular season with 45g, 60a for 105 points, while Dylan McIlrath (2010 – 1st) scored his first WHL shorthanded goal Saturday night.
