The New York Rangers (47-21-7) defeated the Toronto Maple Leafs (33-34-9) by the score of 4-3 in a shootout, tonight. For a boxscore and recap go to Yahoo! Sports.
…would I be happier if the Rangers were able to take care of the lowly Leafs in regulation? Sure. But two points are hard to come by in late March and I’ll take them any way I can get them. Especially when the Penguins lose to Ottawa.
…Callahan for Hart?
…Gaborik has to go and ruin one of his more dominant games of the season by going to the deke in the shootout. Is this guy ever going to learn? Marian you have the quickest release in the league. Use it!
…you think Richards was sick of not scoring in the shootout? He banged that home with authority. Also love to see him assisting on both of Gaborik’s goals. Especially that sweet sauer pass on Gabby’s second tally.
…see the Rangers don’t need EC, Wolski and Zuccarello to win in the shootout.
…speaking of Zuccarello, forgot how bad the power play was without him in the line-up.
…dare I say Dubinsky has been earning his salary lately.
…three blocked shots and five hits for Fedotenko. Yeah, I think he got the message.
…faceoffs continue to be brutal for Rangers with 38% tonight. Although they scored twice on faceoff wins, so who knows.
…five shots on goal and six hits for Stepan, but he was scoreless with a -1.
…got to like Staal being physical tonight with five hits.
…penalty kill was first star of the game for the Rangers as they sparkled in the third period.
…off until Tuesday when they head to Minnesota.
