In an interview with Sean Leahy at Puck Daddy, Chris Kreider (2009 – 1st) discusses what he took away from playing with NHL guys during the two World Championships he participated in…
“A lot. Almost too many things to list. My first year, when I was 18, it was a lot of off-ice stuff and how guys carried themselves and conducted themselves away from the rink and in the locker room. Last year was the way guys played and the way guys prepared and the way guys performed on the ice.”
…i’ve said this a lot recently, but I’m so impressed with Kreider’s character. He is mature beyond his years, which is why I think he’d easily acclimate himself to the NHL game and the Rangers way whether it was in the playoffs this season or starting in camp next year.
…while I joke around about wanting Kreider to lose in Thursday’s National Semi-Final, so he can join the Rangers for the season finale on Saturday, I truly will be rooting hard for him to take home his second National Championship this weekend.
…and even if Boston College does lose, I’d be shocked if Tortorella would want to bring a young player in who has virtually no knowledge of his system for a playoff run. Get him some playoff experience with the Whale and have him read for camp in September.
