What I learned about Sweden

I was in Europe for two weeks, which explains why the overall quality of the site has improved recently. Anyways, going to Sweden, I couldn’t help but think they would be tuned in to the Cup Finals. It turns out my family is from the same town as the Zetterbergs, so while I was in Sundsvall, I really expected to hear something about hockey and their native son. Maybe I would have, but there was something much more important going on in Sweden.

Team frickin’ handball. How do you play? I have no idea. It looked like basketball merged with Lacrosse. But by God, if there wasn’t a handball game (match?) on every day I was in Sweden. I tried to find out more about the whole handball phenomenon, and I came up with the site for the International Handball Federation. I just read to the point where they started talking about their official organ. You’re on your own if you want to find out more.

As for me, I’m just glad to be back to talking about hockey.
