Going into the 2014 NFL season, it is important to know which players are going into a big season. Last season, the Seattle Seahawks capped off an impressive year by destroying the Denver Broncos and Peyton Manning in the Super Bowl. Since then, the Seahawks have remained as the favorite in the NFL to repeat as champions, which means that some of their players are due for an outstanding year. Due to this, it is essential that you draft the right players from the Seattle Seahawks to play on your fantasy team because they could be the player that makes or breaks your team.
1. QB Russell Wilson
Russell Wilson is one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL, and there are no signs of him slowing down. Wilson is a very unique type of quarterback. Unlike Tom Brady or Peyton Manning, he is able to escape from the pocket with ease; however, at the same time, unlike Colin Kaepernick or RGIII, he is able to play very well in the pocket as well, making him one of the most complete players and versatile threats in the NFL. Next season should be no different. The Seahawks don’t mess around with the read option or other college style plays. Most of the time, he plays in the pocket, but when he needs to run, he will. Because of this, you should draft him. NFL fantasy points are earned through passing yards and rushing yards, and if you are able to have a quarterback who has the ability to provide both of these types of yards every week, then you will be giving yourself a great opportunity to win all the time.
2. WR Percy Harvin
Last season, Percy Harvin was very limited in his playing time; however, he played when it counted. During the Super Bowl, which was his healthiest game of the year, he proved that he had a place on the team. In that game, he put up a ton of rushing yards, returned a kick for a touchdown, and caught some passes. This is more than enough to draft him. As a defensive player, it is very hard to tell what Harvin is going to do. He can burn you with his legs for a run or a pass, and because of this, he is one of the hardest players in the league to cover. Harvin has not even reached his full health yet, and when he does, you can expect him to put up a ton of yards with the Seahawks.
3. RB Marshawn Lynch
Marshawn Lynch doesn’t stop. For the last three seasons in a row, Lynch has managed over a 1,000 yards in each, and he has no stopping in sight. Next season, he will be playing with an improved offensive line, and should have much more room to play with. Aside from this, the Seahawks will not want Russell Wilson to get injured by taking short runs, so you can expect many of the goal line TD runs to now go to Lynch.
